IEEE JMI conducted a workshop on robotics in collaboration with MITBOTS - an IITian’s initiative for beginners in the field of robotics' on 28th of February and 1st of March. It was a sixteen hour long workshop given eight hours to each day. It was conducted by Ankit Mittal, R&D head, MITBOTS. It was attended by over 30 teams comprising of three-four members per team, from colleges from all over Delhi. The whole session was divided into two parts – The mechanical assembly and Basic electrical control system. On the first day the students were taught the mechanical aspect of robotics in which the theory part was taken first. After the theory session the students got the feel of making the robot on their own using the kit provided by the organizers, one to each team. The students learnt the assembly of a simple wired robot which was followed by an interactive event. All the teams participated and competed against each other to see who could make the most reliable and fastest robot, thus concluding the first day. |
