IEEE JMI bids farewell to '09 EXECOMM

The Farewell ceremony of the execomm 2009 took place at the committee room on the 29th of January 2010. Our Dean, Professor S.S. Nabi and Professor Mini. S. Thomas, branch counselor, accompanied by other faculty members added glitter to the event.

The ceremony kicked off with a welcome address by Imran Ali, IEEE JMI Chairperson, followed by an address by Mini Ma'am who congratulated the Execomm 2009 for working tirelessly for our student organization. She stressed that the current execomm needed to work even hard for the organization. Professor Nabi took the stage and praised all the IEEE members for their dedicated work. He encouraged the overall development of the students, encourages more publishing regarding our organization, moving forward and dominating every field.
On popular demand we are listing out all the titles that were presented to the outgoing EXECOM. So here we go;
Hamza Tahir Khan 2009 turned out to be an exciting and successful year for all of us thanks to this man's Exemplary Leadership. Hamza Tahir Khan has portrayed the perfect skill set of a leader by turning every situation to the student branch's advantage in his tenure. Though jokingly called Chintamani by his companions, the poise and composure he maintained even in the thickest of situations is not everybody's cup of tea. An intelligent decision maker, a well motivated leader, an encouraging teammate, a peacemaker are a few of the many facets of your personality that make you an outstanding performer. You are undoubtedly THE MAN WITH MIDAS TOUCH!!
New EXECOM inducted, Annual Plan 2010 pushed into service

IEEE JMI kicked off the New Year by organizing its first General Body Meeting (GBM) of the year 2010 on the 21st of this month. In attendance were our Branch Counselor; Pof. Mini S. Thomas, the chairperson, the vice Chairpersons, the General Secretary along with the joint Secretaries. The agenda of the meeting was to introduce the newly elected executive committee-2010 and to discuss the annual plan of activities for the year 2010 with the student members.
The proceedings began with each ExeComm member introducing himself and his responsibilities to the student members. Prof Mini S. Thomas then took the opportunity to interact with the members and reiterated the benefits enjoyed by a member of the IEEE and encouraged them to involve themselves more in the activities being organized by our student branch.
After doing fairly well at the R10 student website contest, IEEE Jamia Millia Islamia has now bagged the runners up position at the international student website contest organised by the IEEE Head Quarters. Our sincerest thanks to all who made this possible. This includes all contributors, authors and most importantly our members who helped us develop this great online niche of ours.
This comes as a big motivational push as we start off with our work to prepare for the 2010 R10 student website contest! Here's hoping we can improve on our current position and do well this year. Thank you all for your support so far.
