The student branch of IEEE, JMI organized a farewell ceremony on 30th January 2009 for the outgoing members of IEEE, JMI. The occasion was graced by the presence of our Dean, S.S. Nabi, Branch Counselor, Prof. Mini S. Thomas and Dr. Munna Khan. The programme commenced with an inspiring address by Prof. Mini S. Thomas. She shared her experiences as an IEEE member and encouraged the first years to take advantage of every opportunity that came their way and discover their talents. She commended the hard work and dedication of the previous EXECOM members and wished them success in all their future endeavors. This was followed by the Certificate Distribution Ceremony. Dr. Munna Khan and Prof. Mini gave away certificates, titles and souvenirs to final year IEEE, JMI members as a reminiscence of their experience. Following this was a presentation on Encomium’08 which compelled everyone to go down the memory lane.

The formal event ended on a nostalgic note and the ex-chairperson Rajat Malhotra thanked the new EXECOM and wished them a great year ahead.

The informal events followed and saw active participation from all students. The conviviality began with cutting a cake by the previous EXECOM. The fervor caught up and the seniors and juniors had a great time playing games and clicking pictures. The day ended with the students bustling with energy and asking for more. But alas! It was time to say goodbye and bid farewell to the seniors.
